I was wondering if someone could help me please. I have a 110 HP mercury outboard and I can't find a manual for it. I need to know on the two coils I have a green/white stripe wire and a blue/ whit stripe wire, are those positive or negative wires? the other two are green and blue. Thanks in advance.

Check Ebay and do not go for Clymers or Seloc.
Buy a factory manual.
Blue wire "sky", top cylinder, green wire "grass" lower cylinder.

Green is for #1 cylinder.----Wires with white stripe go to negative.

The oil seals have nothing to do with compression in the cylinders.

I was thinking after looking at everything it must be the crank seals as to why it won't fire with premix into carb.
Leaking crank seals are likely to cause lean running and maybe loss of power but I dont believe they would completely stop the motor from running .

great news!! I got this motor running but now it only starts with the throttle wide open. Could you please tell me how to set the fast idle as I still don't have a manual for this motor. Thanks!

Does it keep running if you close the throttle to ¼ open after starting at full throttle ?

I pull the choke, start it and it runs good. I adjusted the idle speed a bit and seems to run good.

The Carb should be fully closed at the Start Position of the Throttle.
What exactly are you adjusting when you say you adjusted the Idle Speed?

After I got it up and running I adjusted the low speed mixture and throttle stop screw, in for more idle and out for less. Think I was able to get it correct cause now it will start on second pull (first being choke closed) and it pulls gas in.

Throttle stop screw, you are referring to the one that limits the retarding of the timing?

No the one beside that one behind. I turn it in and the idle goes up and back it out for idle to go down. I don't have a manual for this motor but think I have it figured out now, other then idle in gear might need adjusting.

These things dont work like you might think is logical .
From an idle , motor ticking over ( the idle mix has been set right ) when you turn the twistgrip the throttle doesnt actually open , what increases speed is that the timing plate moves to advance timing because at idle the timing should be close to ( even after ) tdc , untill you get to about ¼ . Moving the twistgrip past ¼ the timing plate acts on the carb butterfly and opens it as well as further advancing the timing untill about ¾ twistgrip at which point the carb butterfly should be wide open , after that further turning the twistgrip to full only further advances the timing as the carb is already wide open .
So , the idle speed is set by adjusting the timing at idle , obviously the carb butterfly must be open a whisker to allow some air/fuel into the motor .....see this is where a manual becomes a bit vital. I dont have the experience to advise on the correct manual but as I have said before it may be that you have to get a manual that covers several motors of the same model range and not one absolutely specific to your motor......and thats where I just dont know what to tell you to go for .
I have seen manuals for 9.8hp 110 model motors but not for the year you say yours is ....but I suspect any 110 model will be the same as they often made the same motor for several years...different stickers for different years . Hopefully someone will be able to say " this one " .
What you are needing to do now is called a "link and sync". If you google that with your model or year Im sure there will be videos on you tube showing you how ....Dangar marine is one , aussie boat guy is another ...and there are others too 🙂🙂

On larger engines, almost all the timing advance is in before the carb is even cracked off of idle, and then once max advance has happened, does the carb start to open. However smaller engines(less than 20hp), might open the carb a bit sooner.
On almost all 2 stroke outboards, idle speed is set by the timing, and it can vary from one engine to another, and even because of a prop change, so there is no idle timing spec
