Phew!!! That looks refreshing......we are nearing the end of spring and the warmer weather is upon us here big time, already seeing temps around 100 deg F, higher in places further north.....going to be a long dry summer over here im thinking.

Ahh lil dose of Michigan reality!, time to get the nymph done! I do believe you made a promise to the Islander, she may get cranky if left out in the cold much longer.:)

You could probably gone swimming on Thanksgiving here Jas (70+) but I wouldn't have! We are in that weird time of year where mornings or at or below freezing and afternoons are upper 60's low 70's. Oh and yes I am one of those southern wimps who puts on long sleeves below 60.

Yes, my nephew actually jumped in the lake on Thanksgiving... Nice, refreshing late November swim :)

Re: 1980 Sea Nymph SS 165 Rebuild

OK friends, it's been a rough couple of weeks (I'll spare the details).

I do have a super high point I'd like to share with my buds on iboats though, check it out...

So our Father has decided to bless our whole family with an Easter Break trip. He's handling the whole thing, condo, food, the whole bit, for my family and my bros family, and my other bro! Where? Hilton Head Island, totally awesome! This is going to be a sweet family trip!

Now, he was originally going to pick up the flight tab for all of us too. We checked on pricing, yikes! Yah, we won't be transported via air, bummer. So, sixteen hours in a vehicle with three little ones, oh boy.

Now, how about the vehicle choice? Super good on gas Honda Civic? Or, how about, maybe, just maybe a Yukon XL with carpy mpg? Well, that also happens to have a hitch on it:D

HHHHaaahahahahahahhhaha, woooooohhhhhoooooooo!!!!!

Gents, I do believe this here Sea Nymph will journey with us down to the south land for some island/ocean fishing!!!:joyous:

I popped on youtube for some inspiration...

Sooooooo.....

I'm thinking about my punch list for this boat - what I had in mind before I wrap her up for the winter has changed just a little bit. I'll have to think that stuff through and post up later.

Cheers guys!

16 hours trailering a boat with 3 young 'uns - (yeah, I'd do it in heartbeat)... Good thing is you can trailer some of your luggage in the boat to free up more room in the ride...

You are going to love Hilton Head... That whole area is just awesome.... fishing and boating paradise....
Bring your GPS and pay attention to the tides.... I'm jealous...

Wow, that sounds like quite a trip. Can't say I'm not a bit jealous, expect a 16 hour drive to take 18 or 19 with the kids (unexpected bathroom breaks and such). That's going to be a lot of fun.

Honk & wave as you cross WV on your way to Hilton Head...

Sounds like a fun trip! Wally world stocks the large bottle of benedryl & dramamine, I'd stock up on both... :puke:

For the ride down & getting offshore.

Need a 'will work for the right to wet a line, but its highly likely that no actual fish will be caught' Yukon driver? :wink-new:

Come on down. You will have a totally awesome time on HHI. The boat will allow you to see more of the secluded areas.Just remember to get the salt water off of everything including the trailer.Oh wait,You already know that being in a snowy area.Anyway it goes,if you have a bad time,it will still be fun.

Dad,are we there yet,are we there yet,are we there yet?

I think the Islander would be a much better choice to bring along....................

You better get busy.

Sounds like a great trip! Bring looooooooooooots of snacks and a "Pee Jug"! It'll save a ton of stops.... used it going to Lake Placid this fall.... saved (and I am not joking here) 16 extra stops!!

Re: 1980 Sea Nymph SS 165 Rebuild

Everyone involved should have fun at HH Jas. (Even if it is on the wrong side of the Savannah river  ) Personally I can't offer too much advice as my mother had people in Charleston so we spent summers on Folly beach not HH. I know guys used to catch big largemouth in the old rice plantation's canals around Charleston so be on the look out for that around HH. Also SCETV radio (S.C.'s public radio) does a daily hour long show called Your Day. Once a month they have some DNR agents in to take calls. Might be worth a listen its available as a podcast (I think) and I've heard people call in with questions from as far away as Nebraska if I remember right. Oh and dude, the sea food in the Carolina low country....mmmmmm. Good times!
