1983 Dt5o Starving For Fuel

I started my 1983 DT50 for the first time this spring. The motor ran OK on muffs, but as it was idling it would starve out for gas. I could literally watch the gas level in the fuel filter bowel drop and the motor would die.

As I pumped up the fuel bulb/ tank line I get some leakage at the tank line to motor connection, male<>female quick connector. I have ordered the female side connector.

Am I on the right track ?

Is there anything else I may want to check before I place my order.

Sounds like your on the right track.
My DT30 was doing the same thing and I traced it back to the fuel connector. I removed the male and female connectors and just shoved the fuel line from the outboard into the gas tank fuel line. It fit perfect. I've been running it for months like this.

Yes you are on the right track, sometimes something this small can cause alot of frustration, the moment it sucks in air it gives hassles ....

Thanks deejaycee, as you say it is a very small leak.

But at this time it is the only obvious problem I am seeing.

I?ll be back if the problem doesn?t go away. This forum is great help
