Re: Sos help
Re: Sos help
Hey, I'd suggest you edit the title to suggest what the problem is so it garners interest from some of the moderators or heavy weights @iBoats.
Hit the "Edit post" tab at the bottom right of your first post, then in the new window that opens hit the
"Go Advanced" tab. At the top of the post window that opens, there should be an box w/ your
Sos help title, just type over that w/ a new title, & when you post it, the title will be changed.
I'd suggest something like:
Bulkhead separated at hull
How concerned should I be w/ bulkhead separation
Has this separation decreased the structural integrity of my hull
1984 26' carver monterey bulkhead separation
There are 10's of thousands of us posting & only so many Mod's. It may take some time to have 1 of them swing through. But putting the boat yr, make & model in the title will draw people who have your boat & may have similar problems, & listing your concern, esp if unsafe, gets peoples attention. Good bunch @ these parts. Always helpful, LOVE PIX, and will do all they can to make your stay in dry dock quick as possible.
Wish I could help answer the Q's. I would proceed w/ caution until the separation is at least stabilized, and spend some time looking around at the inside & outside of the deck, hull & boat looking for a clue as to how it might have become separated. Hopefully it wasn't what lead the previous owner (PO) to sell it. Not cool, not cool at all, no matter what you paid if its unsafe.
Welcome, FatBoy, and best of luck getting her patched up & back in the water!
I have to ask: Did you ever work for a catering service & know a dishwasher named Willie? I have the Blk & Orange hat & street sign, neither for the HD motorcycle
