Is there anyone with knowledge of the 1984 Merc 115 Power Trim outboard? I am trying to find is it has a Trim Gauge sending unit on the motor.
It is mounted on a 1985 Procraft 1650v. It's in great shape...bought last year and had it in for a complete motor checkup just a few weeks back. It had some gauge wiring issues I had to deal with under the dash and took care of that with help from this forum over the past weekend.
However, the dash panel is missing one gauge (Just a hole in the dash) and has an aftermarket Surface Temp digital gauge which I assume replaced another factory gauge. I do have Tach, Speedo, Fuel, PSI (PSI for what I don't know yet).
I did check the exterior of the lower unit for any type of sensor or sending unit and I do not see any brown wire with white stripe, so I am not optimistic...yet maybe I am missing something or possibly one was there and completely removed, along with the cockpit gauge????
On another note, for anyone familiar with these older Procrafts, on the far lower left of the dash panel is a 4 inch in diameter piece of circular black plastic...for lack of any other description, it looks like a large black plastic peanut butter jar lid mounted flat side down with a stainless steel screw in the middle. It is the same style plastic as the other gauges and it looks like it held something (Does not have a drill through for any wires) Anyone who knows what belongs here, please let me know...
