Re: 1986 Bayliner Trophy restoration
my brother put a laundry tub from home depot in his boat and plumbed & wired it up as his livewell. Did not work. Turns out some bait will die if you do not have a round live-well. The shad he used for striped bass was one of them. They bang their heads into corners when swimming circles until they die. Point, is, make the livewell fit the bait instead of the boat.
Does anyone have any suggestions on putting a livewell(s) in a bass boat? Where do you get them? Any suggestions on installation? I think the previous layout had the livewell in the bow area. From what I can tell it had plumbing from the livewell to a thru-hull fitting in the transom. I didn't see any discharge opening tho. So maybe you just fill the livewell and aerate the water and empty it after you pull it out of the water? The only thru-hull opening above the waterline is on the right side at the back. I'm pretty certain that is for the bilge.
I sorta need to figure some of this stuff out before I get too involved with putting the deck in it. The guy said the plumbing ran down the center of the hull under the deck.
