Hi all,

Wondering if anyone knew what would cause and engine to flood like crazy. I was in Bouge Sound this weekend and everything was running great. Started getting what felt like the gear popping out but was real quick. Then all of the sudden, the power droped quickly and then the engined died. Found that while it was running the carb was spitting fuel. I had a valve for the fuel and found that if I cut it down to nothing it would start and run till it ran out of fuel in the line. Also found that I could control it by cracking the valve just a bit to get a steady stream of fuel. I have no idea what could cause this other than the fuel pump going nuts and sending way too much fuel to the carb. Any ideas on what it is and how to fix it? Will be happy to answer any questions for further info. geddiup@nc.rr.com or aim id taylor yardi.
Thanks guys!

Either a hole in the fuel pump, stuck needle in the carb or you broke a reed.

OR a cyl dropped out on you.

TMD

I sure hope it's one of the first three TMD mentioned.

I vote for the fuel pump and it is probably the easiest to check.

well I have found that the carb is the problem the needle and seat supply the fuel and the float regulates how much is in there, as for the carb spitting fuel sounds like you also have a broken reed valve allowing cylinder compression back threw the carb.
