I just bought a 1986 Rinker boat with a 140 mercruiser engine. I'm trying to figure out how to drain the oil to change it (my only other boat is a 2-stroke OB, so changing oil is something I've only had to do in a car or riding mower). Don S kindly provided the service manual for my engine, and it says "if drain plug is not accessible because of boat construction, oil may be removed through dipstick tube using a Quicksilver crankcase oil pump". So is this what I'm going to have to do- buy a pump or rig something up to get the oil out, because I don't see an easy way to get to the drain plug...?
