I just bought a 1986 Rinker boat with a 140 mercruiser engine. I'm trying to figure out how to drain the oil to change it (my only other boat is a 2-stroke OB, so changing oil is something I've only had to do in a car or riding mower). Don S kindly provided the service manual for my engine, and it says "if drain plug is not accessible because of boat construction, oil may be removed through dipstick tube using a Quicksilver crankcase oil pump". So is this what I'm going to have to do- buy a pump or rig something up to get the oil out, because I don't see an easy way to get to the drain plug...?

Ayuh,... Oil Suckers are the Best way,...
An extended oil drain hose from the pan, out through the garboard plug is an option that can be added...

Ayuh,... Find 1 of the Unmotorized 1s that you pump up by hand...

Moeller I think makes it...

Ok, i've since found unmotorized ones for sale online for a more reasonable price. Thanks again, Bond-o.

You can buy an OILSUCKING device for $49 bucks at Northern Tool Catalog
( Topsider item #33226-1107 ). It looks like a 2.5 Gal gas-can with a pump on top and they work well. * I had to drain my 460CU JETBOAT MOTOR this way and found other pumps like small drill/pumps and $10 hardware ( hand ) pumps DID NOT WORK.
Other pumps cost up to $200 ( not necessary) The topsider works great & is EASY.

Found a motorized one for $27. Some Chinese-made brand called "seachoice". Did the job.
