Re: 1986 ss 201
Update on the 201, after a lot of tinkering and a new Edlebrock 1409 marine carb the bog was totally fixed and she was running way better. Then I ended up with a back fire and miss at higher RPM. After pulling my hair out and checking everything over many times I called an old Mercruiser mechanic to ask some advice. As it turns out Mercruisers don't like Autolite spark plugs, the old guy asked me what was in the motor for plugs, I told him and he said put AC Delco MR43t's in here and have fun, I was pretty skeptical, but ordered a set drove the 130 k round trip to pick up the plugs. Installed them and took her back out on the water. What a difference, no more miss and 47MPH at WOT, handles like a dream.
