Re: 1986 ss 201

Top side paint is done Woooho, I have been working toward this turning point for a while. I will post some pic tomorrow. Once the paint sets up good, time to finish the interior, trailer and get the SS back on it so I can get the Mercruiser installed. After I get the trailer done I want to take it and weight it before the boat goes on so I have accurate weights for both.

Very nice excellent paint job, looks like a very good match to the rest of the boat how did you manage to get such a good match

Looks great!

Thanks Guys, The color is Rusto Pro, Marlin Blue and it is a very close match, just a tad lighter. I bought a gallon of it and the gal of Saftey blue for the trailer, the origional plan was too mix the two to get a better match but it wasn't neccesary, plus I can touch up if needed right out of the can.

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeat!!! Lookin' good man! Nice to see you off the stinkin' trailer!!! The sunshine outside makes it look like it's summer,.... but based on your previous "snow day" post.... I'm thinking its more winterish!

Thanks 64, pretty close to Robin egg, I saw one of them two weeks ago, poor bugger didn't know what he was in for, been -12c over night and lots of wind ans snow.

Beautious. What's the plan for the inner gunwale part?

Thanks EZ, I have the side panels built for the main part of the hull and will make some the same pattern for the casting deck gunwals.Like this,

More like Mini-Me's coffin with drink holders, I think. LOL

Glen, you knocked this out of the park. Again! Those guys on the lake will be asking where to buy one of these once more.

Thanks a bunch guys, well see how it all goes back together, and the true test will be how it performs on the water. I haven't found anyone that has ever been in this model to ask what they thought.

DII - our '85 V5 rides like a dream. Had it out in some big water a few times - almost stood it on its transom once... Handles chop really well.

PS - the rebuild looks great . Can't wait to see it on the water.'
