Re: 1986 ss 201

Glen man... looks awesome!!! I think you should have worn a suit and tie to fit in with the condition of the boat and trailer! Really like the look of the whole setup. Hard to believe how tall that rig is... with the windshield it has got to be approaching 7 feet!

Trailer setup from yesterday morning looks great well. No one will miss it when following behind!!!!

Super job --- Looking like you may get to keep the award for another season --- have you recieved it at this point?

Jim

Hey Jim, thanks a bunch, good call on the height I checked with a tape after work and it is 73"s to the top of the windshield.
I haven't heard a thing from Clark on the SOTY and his maibox is full.

I don't think that combo looked that good when it was brand new!

Thanks EZ

Wow Dozer. Slim, trim, and ready to fish (I'm speaking of the boat / trailer of course). Trailer is awesome by the way.

Thanks Tim, I haven't been able to find those gauges I mentioned, the Admiral cleaned out the basement, so they could be anywhere.

Man.. I was thinking just the same thing when I seen the pics of it on the trailer.... You have that blue growing on a guy....

I can't believe how tall that is sitting on the trailer? Are all of them this tall or is it the trailer helping? That has gotta make it a little bit more of a pita to load up for the day at the house eh? But honestly, small price i guess for a good lookin old tin boat.

The wheels set off the whole thing on the trailer IMO.

Looking for a floating pic now... :) ya know the one with the lake wave and frostie barley pop in the other hand... :very_drunk:

Thanks SMG, it is about an 1 1/2 higher on the trailer than with the rollers, but I still have to adjust the bunks out to a lower it some, and yes I can hardly wait for pics on the water as well.

We might have to create another SOTY award. One for Glen, which he already has and might as well glue it to the wall, and one for the top wannabe Glen poser - the rest of us.

Come on GA there a lot of guys on here building some real beauty boats.

Glen

That boat looks great. That splash will be nice and you will have a lot of guys asking questions and admiring the boat. Enjoy her. :)

Glen, don't sweat those gauges, I'm not. If you come across them let me know, otherwise don't even think about it. Thought you might like to see what I found in the river monday. Of course this was all purely by accident.

Glen, as the owner of a small landscape company I don't get much time in the boat from April 1 to December 1. So as your boating time is coming soon, mine is quickly coming to an end. I'm just glad that the mighty niagara doesn't freeze in the winter. Sometimes the water temp is as low as 30 degrees farenheit but the current is such that it doesn't freeze. Anyway back to your build. Do I remember correctly that you said you would be towing this fine rig behind your fifth wheel?

That's my plan, I guess we will see how that turns out. That kinda sucks missing the whole summer for work, but with out the work there wouldn't be any boating or fishing.

Now you sound like the admiral. If I don't work I can"t boat or fish. I do a little trailering with the landscaping and I have a 30' travel trailer but the 5th wheel and the SS201 sound like quite a train. Can't wait to hear how it works out.

I, for one, would love to see a picture of the 5th wheel / ss201 road train. I'm also very interested to see what the thing will weigh with engine, drive, fuel, etc. Our 201 lives on a home-made lift system and we ballparked the weight.

Once she's done and hooked up I will post the pics.

Well after all kind of thought and many different ideas I odered the decals for her name this morning.

Not a lot of progress, busy at work. But the polish is done, hard to believe that paint is 27 years old.

Ladder installed , Thanks to John for hooking me up with it, and the lights.

And the last one has the starboard side kick panel in place with a real nice LED light.
