1986 Weldcraft Aluminum Boat W/ Turbojet

I have the boat described in the title. The power head is installed as an inboard. The motor is a 90 hp cross flow - 2 stroke - Evinrude. I am having continuous issues with the fuel flow and most of the isses appear to relate to the VRO unit. I spend more time with the fuel pump than I do enjoying the boat.

Can anyone give me some advice here as it appears an electirc fule pump replacment is not an acceptable modification? Thanks very much for the help.
