Do they have boat shows for boats not in the water?

Yes. My father and I used to go to the Philadelphia Boat Show at the Philadelphia Civic Center each year when I was a kid. I remember falling in love with a 16' bow rider and daydreaming about riding around with my friends in that. (1972-ish)
I finally have my bow rider. I wish I still had Dad. :-(
Those indoor shows were mostly for companies to show their latest stuff, but there were also show boats on display.
In my 20's I custom painted a 40' catamaran with twin v8s that went to that show the same year before it ever went in the water.
That's what I think of when I see how neat yours is.

My dad used to take me to the NY boat show every year, we'd wait in line to board the big cruisers.......of course back then a 28 flybridge cost less than a new 4 stroke these days.

Boat/truck storage area is complete, other than a little bit of wiring for an outlet and some lighting.

I only had one short to chase down and after fixing it, all the electronics that run on the house battery are working. Here you can see all the backlit rocker switches on the dash lit up.

Got the captains chair bases where I wanted them today so I marked the spot on the floor and glassed in my mahogany bases that will take the screws. Hairy PB underneath the bases, one layer of 1708 tabbing, then 1 layer of CSM over the whole thing. I also polished the captains chair pedestal bases. I didn't go crazy...spent about 30 minutes on the pair, so there's still some scratches, but it's good enough.

Thanks! If we were neighbors...maybe, haha. I used a 3" wool pad chucked up in my drill with some AquaBuff 2000....very little effort to get them to shine up.

I spent a little more time this afternoon on the boat. I knocked down the high spots after the glass cured:



And I made a rough template from 6 mil plastic for the carpet:

Clever idea. I made my carpet template out of the carpet.
Q: will your passenger seat have enough room to swivel around and face rearward? Like for watching a skiier.

I was getting ready to haul the carpet roll up into the boat yesterday when I thought "Wait a minute. This is going to be a pain / impossible. I need something easier to maneuver." It was hard to get the plastic to stay still on one side of the boat while marking/cutting on the other side, so I'll cut the carpet a little larger than the template and trim on the fly as I'm gluing it down.

Regarding seat swivel - I should be good. I spent about 30 minutes marking out where the bases would go to allow enough leg room for all passengers and still be able to swivel both captains chairs.

I used clear plastic to make my upholstery patterns. The trick I learned was to use spray adhesive (Foam Bond) to hold it in place while marking it out with a sharpie. A little stick 'em in the corners might have helped you a bunch.
Even so, you won't have to drag a huge piece up into the boat.
Glue it down and trim it after it is mostly stuck down.

More progress today - I got the last of the carpet installed which meant I was able to also install the captain's chair bases, glove box, and ski locker trim ring.

Back of the carpet after rough cutting to shape. I used a silver sharpie to transfer the template from the plastic to the carpet, then cut about 2" wider than the pattern.



A few pictures of everything installed.







Glove box - I put a USB charger port inside, and it has flip-down cup holders on the face. You can also see the carpet seams - I'm pretty happy with how they turned out.



Here is the floor drain just in front of the bench seat.



More seams. This is also where one of the speakers will go - the hole is there but I haven't cut the carpet out yet.

Looks great Tod, almost too clean to use lol, .........what adhesive did u use? I have to install some new carpet in the big sea ray on the verticle areas and staples will show

I used DAP spray grade Weldwood (aka landau top & trim contact adhesive). I spray it out of an HVLP gun with a 1.8mm tip. I use 3M PPS, so cleanup is really simple on the gun.

Gotya thanks, for a large area like yours the gun makes sense, Im doing small areas the height of step risers and bed frame height, so I looking for something trowlable....I think maybe Dap will have something in a can.

Yeah, I saw that, looks much more use friendly for the small areas, I can just spray the surface and back of the carpet, along with a few hidden staples...
