I'll give the OP and everyone else that posted on this credit, this has been the most ridiculous thread I have ever read on here and I thank everyone for the laughs!

OP,
I tell ya what... How about I just buy the boat from ya? Name your price... BUT you have to get it down here to Florida first.

Since I can't figure out if this thread is fake or a legit search for help.....

I would bet my boat that it's the former.... It was good humor humor, though... I especially like the poll questions maxing out at 3,000 bucks... To make it truly authentic, the OP (troll) could have included a few more of the classics, e.g. (1) plans to grossly overpower the boat; (2) a project timeline of 4-5 weeks; (3) unwillingness to use PPE, etc...

Despite these glaring omissions, the rest of it is top shelf "poser-noob" material...

I think this was just a joke by someone with extra time on their hands.
It would be like me starting a tread of wanting to buy a pontoon with rotten furniture and no motor hoping to power it by paddle wheel driven buy a steam engine I could make from a old BBQ smoker.

I could see that as being much more feasible...

The stern will stay down due to the additional equipment onboard and I’m also thinking about keeping that motor that’s in it right now, after I fix it, as the inboard motor. I’m not trying to break speed records so I think it will work for the performance I need. I might need to adjust the structure to accommodate the engine being in the center and any advice on that would be great. Thanks Woodonglass, I think U.S. Composites prices are a little cheaper, but I will have to factor in shipping price. Bomber Goober a water pump is a really good idea in case I start taking on water. If anyone has an idea of the specific type of fiberglass mat I should use please let me know as well as if you think the structure, such as the stringers, needs to be changed to help with the engine being moved.

Seriously doubting a boat that sank in a hurricane at least a few years ago (I noted the registration expiring in 2004) is going to have usable engines.

If this thread wasn't a joke, I'm pretty certain you picked THE WORST boat that salvage yard had. You'd be better off to pick up one of their Constellations that needs at least a few planks and using OSB and construction adhesive than this thing.

I suspect this boat was totaled by an insurance company and the big chainsaw/sawzall cut was because it was totaled

On second thought the saw cut down the transom should not be repaired. You could take one of the zippers off a tyvek suit and hot glue it in place over that joint. This un-zippable joint would be perfect for dropping the shrimp nets.

I would have to say that was the best response I read on this whole topic....I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes from laughing so hard. Thanks saginawbayboater for making my saturday.

I know this topic was from last month but I ran across it while doing a search and the more I read it the more I couldn't believe people responded to this guy's idea. Maybe he could be a shrimp captain, seems he caught a lot of people in his net already.

I think nOOboater should change his name to tROLLboater.
