Hello Folks,
I just traded my aluminum jon for this 1988 Lancer fiberglass 14.6' bass style boat. The engine runs fantastic, but it takes the motor FOREVER to plane the boat off (even at full throttle), but once it does it'll fly. The prop thats on there is a 11 3/4 by 17, now this prop is beat up and needs to be replaced anyway, but I think it still should plane the boat off. To get the boat on plane I had to stand up and lean forward. This boat is not that heavy and this 40 should blast it out the hole.
1. Is this too much pitch for this engine/ boat?
2.) what is the standard prop for this motor?
As always I appreciate it
