Installing tachometer(20 pole) on my 1988 50 hp force and just want to be sure of something. I know to hook the purple wire to the signal contact, the ground to the ground, but the bat AND the contact for light, can they come from the accessory of switch? I am assuming so or else the maybe the BAT. goes to battery and the light to accessory. Quick reply would be great as I am about to go out and install that and volt meter. I just want to be sure as I would hate to fry this tachometer as it was not cheap.

the batt and light wire should be hooked up to the ignition switch. So wene the key is in the on position so is the tach.

Thinking about installing a tachometer in my 88 125 Force. What gauge did you choose?

I wired all the backlight of each gauge into the nav lights.
