I will start by saying that the OMC King Cobra setup isn't scary itself, it is finding the parts. The 2 that have been my biggest problem were the exhaust manifolds, and the crankshaft pulley(not a normal problem). Anyway, bought this boat and trailer 3 years ago..."Needs Work" for $600.00. 3 years later, I know why a boat payment is the way to go! I absolutely had a blast going through this boat, and I put plenty of blood sweat and money into it, but to do it again wont happen until I am retired. When I tore the motor down, the cam journals were spun, found a crack in 1 head, and the block was cracked...so time to buy a longblock. I had to build a bench, and then I was going to simply resheet all the decking. Turns out there was much more rot than I planned on, so I chased it all out. 3 year later I am ready to hit the water. Oh yeah, I had to rewire my 10 pin because it was junk, and I was melting starter solenoids. I have plenty more pics, but I can only add 5. Oh yes, Marine grade Plywood is expensive.
