Took boat out this weekend. Somewhere between leaving the dock and returning some 4 hours later I lost reverse. No grinding, just when moving shifter in to reverse the boat would move forward instead of backwards.

Reverse was working when I left the dock. Cables are attached to the bracket mounted on the intake.

Looking for some guidance.

Remove the shift cable from the braket, pull on the cable & see if it shifts into forward. If it doesn't you'll probably need to replace the cable & do the shift system adjustments. Have you done any cable adjustments before this or is this a new issue?
