1989 Evinrude VRO 70hp fuel pump switch

I want to eliminate potential problems now and in the future, so do they sell regular fuel pumps for this model where I just premix the gas...that is what I do now anyway and just have the oil line plugged.

I am having symptoms of a fuel pump problem now and just wanted to replace with a cheap regular fuel pump.

I cant find one for a 70hp though.

this one will work and will use the existing pulse line. just make a plate to mount it.

A regular fuel pump such as the one in the previous post isn't cheap, it's around $100.

Go to a 1983 parts book and pick out the fuel pump, hoses, and other parts needed to convert your 70hp to a regular fuel pump system. Make sure you test the boat's fuel system first for restrictions and air bubbles that will give similar symptoms.

How would I check for bubbles? I cleaned the carbs but didn't rebuild them. I will probably do that along with replace the primer bulb to see if it cures the problem.

TD, is there a sierra or aftermarket brand of this part that will work? Or anyone can respond...I have a confirmed vro fuel pump out...just runs the fuel out of the bowls and have to repump it with the bulb to keep going.
