No big boat progress right now due to tournament fishing season, other than sanding and staining some interior & cockpit teak.

Thought I'd share a sweet pic of some 8-10's on Lake Huron this past weekend. It was Torture!

Yup that's my favorite lake:D She's downright cantankerous in the pic, I bet that got your 30 footer rocking in the swells even!

Did you manage to keep the lines down long enough to catch anything?

Scratched out a few Trout, Coho's & Steel, but no Kings. Boat control & speed was obviously difficult. Came as close to puking as you can, without actually spewing. :( Makes my top 3 list of the worst weather trips ever for me. Hopefully better this weekend. Out again FR & SA, but they're calling for T-storms and such.

I got stuck on the bass islands in lake Erie last August because of 8-10s. I only got a 22' FourWinns so there was no way I was going to try and get to the main land!! The ferry's shut down to! You got a set!!

Good looking boat though! It should clean up real nice.

You guys are cracking me up! No boat progress due to practice fishing & weekend tournaments. Don't want to pollute my own thread with sidetrack fishing reports... but since you asked Jas....;)

We scratched out second place today in the YMCA Bluewater Salmon Stakes, and also took big fish honors with a 12.6 lb King. Caught a few fish, cashed a few checks, was a good day on the water! Next 3 weekends are also practice & tournament filled.

On a boat note, I may have scored an empty pole barn to put my project boat in. Got to go measure Monday to see if she fits. Maybe we'll make a little more progress then.

Nice looking king there congratulations, second place is better than everybody except one guy so not bad:D

Where was this lake michigan? We used to fish the Rogers City salmon tourney every year back in the day. Have you ever fished any up north?

Thanks H.A. 126 boats / teams in the tourney, and lots of "Big Dog" talent there. We were fortunate to get 2nd. More bragging rights than anything! As you know, Salmon are scarce in Huron these days.

These first 5 tourneys I fish are all on Lk. Huron. We ran out of Port Huron to Kettle Point Reef in Canada. 'Bout an hour run one way in good seas. Next weekend is Lexington tourney, the following Harbor Beach. Then... we move over to Lk. MI for the next run of tourney's! That's where the big fish are!!!

Never fished way up North on the Sunny side. Used to run the charters on Huron till lake died 5 years ago. Would run the coast up starting at Lexington, Sanilac, Harbor Beach, Grindstone, Port Austin and end up in Oscoda. Never higher. THAT's why I need to finish the little pocket rocket so I can trailer up to the northern ports and Lake O. Soon, but for now... it's fishing time. :)

you are going to love that starcraft. I've been out in mine a few times fishes like a big boat. I think I will put a beaver trol on it I don't like to troll with a kicker, fumes bug me and the beaver trol does a much better job. Trailering is sweet, so you should have no problem running north. If work doesn't slow me down I hope to have it set up the way I want by the end of the week???? congrates on the placement. hey do you ever fish manistee??? whats the name of your boat?

Pullin,

Thanks for the door tip. Glad to hear yours is fishin' like a champ. Would love to see some pics of her rigged! Haven't touched mine lately. Seems like it's more of a puttsing project since I got other boats to fish out of, plus... it's fishing season :). No big hurry. Fished Saginaw Bay yesterday. Boated 30 eyes and a dozen sh*theads. Only had about 10 keeper eye's though. Tons of shorty's. Been killing them in the St. Clair River though, Jigg'in and Whipp'in. Plus... Salmon are firing up in Ludington!
