1990 bayliner capri cp 2070 , got myself into this

I gave a hundred dollars for this boat and trailer! Needs all new wood,foam,transom, etc, motor and mechanics runs great, i really dont want to convert to outboard but everything i read about this l drive and force! Is there a way to convert to another inboard setup! I never owned a boat and have no clue about what im doing! I am a sae master tech and have skills with wood and have access to a fiberglass man and painter. Just dont know where to start this thing is rotted! Any advice would be appreciated! I will post pics of this project!

Said hull was good, engine good, everything needs to go, wants me to check stringers, said he would help with the glass! When its ready, he dont want no part of the tear down and prep!! Lol, he sais he never has done foam, what lb should be used 2,4,8 ? I have no clue just reading and trying to tell myself i can do this!

Once you upload your pic to Photobucket, when you hover over the pic with your mouse pointer, you will have a window with 4 links. the last one is the IMG code. Click inside the window and it will say "Copied". You can then return to your iBoats post and paste the copied link into your post.

Ok, got pics done, now talked to a local boat engine man, he said l drive parts and force parts are going to be extinct! Used parts are out there but some people want big prices but sometimes you can buy complete units for 500.00 so its a chance! Other news! He said there is no reason i cant put a new mercury setup in the boat! If im going to rebuild the transum anyway! He said he has never seen or done it but there is no reason other than time and money! , he said he could get me a 150 hp complete mercury lower engine and geabox, used for about 2500.00 all i have to do is build a transom for it

Your img codes should have: [/B] at both ends of the cut & pasted IMG code

[/B]when you paste it & it doesn't show up as a hot link, like mine is now ^^^

EXCEPT at each end the [SIZE=3][B]{ }[/B][/SIZE] should be [B][SIZE=3][ ][/SIZE][/B] I had to change them so the text would show up instead of the pix....
