Maybe I should start from the beginning. I purchased 1994 glastron/140hp evinrude in 2023. The seller told me that it cutout intermittently and he thought it was one of the carbs. It was also hard to start and rough idling. I used it for a few weeks before taking it to a mechanic to rebuild carbs. He told me it was the power pack and replaced(not fixed). I took it back to the same mechanic and they said they did not won't to work on it because of is age. So being frustrated i had them replace the evinrude with yamaha 150. With too much time on my hands over the winter I decided to put the evinrude on a jon boat that had a 1979 50hp merc with curroding wire issues. When reconnecting the cut wires from the boat swap I had 3 or 4 wires that did not seem to affect the motors operation. I assumed they were tach and other gauges and just wire nutted them. Since putting it on the jon boat the evinrude has went from intermittent cutout, hard to start cold and rough idle to easy cold starts, idles nicely to continuous cutout after a mile or so. I have replaced the power pack, spark plugs/wires, ignition and rebuilt the carbs coils. The impeller appears to be newer. I'm sure I've left out a few details but I pretty sure this cover s the important parts. Thanks again and sorry for the confusion.
