1995 200 hp oceanrunner carb adj

Happy 4th to all, I have a 200 hp oceanrunner 1995 it is a eo series. I have the plastic carbs.A friend told me I possibly had a carb running lean and I needed to richen it up.This is to correct a low speed shift stall out problem.The motor stalls at the dock when shifting,also it sneezes while in reverse other wise it runs perfect. I have gone over the linkage,and all moves nice and free. any advice ? thank you tog

your motor has fixed jets, if it's running lean it's because a jet is partially clogged. not letting enough gas thru to mix with the air. cleaning and rebuild time. what is your idle rpms in gear. they may be too low.

That motor may have adjustable idle jets. Look at the air box and see if there is a small hole in front of each carb.

set up your rpms, or clean your carbs. preferable clean the carbs. especially if they have never been done.

It means fixed idle jets, no adjustments.

Thank you, I bouhgt boat at the end of last yrs season and have no idea if carbs were ever done, I will clean the carbs and see how it goes. I had a feeling they were non adj. I am still on heavily treated tank of gas istill have not burned up last yrs tank) could all the additives be the problem. I added all the additives that omc say's to for a store up. It was in storage for 3 months. tnx again

3 month old gas isn't bad at all... Even if the additives are partial cause of this problem clean the carbs anyway, a lean carb can cause major problems.

burn up most of that gas before refilling. and no need to store gas. i have a 50 gallon tank, that has never had more than $40.00 worth put in it.
