Re: 1995 maxum !! help finding correct ski prop !!
I have a 3.0l 140 hp .. The current prop is a hustler 14 1/4 - 19 pitch alluminum . I was using it this weekend skiing and tubing it took a while took get to plane and level off rpm was low . I would like to improve on it and find a way took get it to plane faster . would a diiferent prop or a hydrofoil help this ? any info appreciated especially from people that have dealt with these problems . curious what some have found helped the most .
Knowing the type of boat, the size, & the prop size, that 19" pitch is a common prop size for your boat, from what I've learned here on the forum. Alot of guys with similar boats use a 17" pitch 4 blade aluminum prop as a spare, for extra hole shot with water sports, or an extra load. That is also if you are now running in the propper range of rpm 4400-4800 I believe, make sure your tach is right, & your rpm is right first.
Or, as an alternative, you can get Smart tabs (if you don't have them already?), and use your existing prop
