Wow what a great write up. I've been wanting to do this to my 97 205 sundowner for years.

Moodrid..I took a quick look, sorry was in a hurry. Couldn't really tell what was going where, was all wrapped up. Take a look at the downloadable manual on here. If somebody else can't help you, I'll look closer when I get back in town.

Re: 1995 Monterey 210 Deck/Stringer Restore

Wanted to give a little update on what I've been up to. As you know if you've been following my thread, I'm switching to Snap In Carpet rather than gluing it back in. After doing some research and hearing from you all, I felt it would be a pretty nice upgrade to the boat and probably increase its value if I ever decided to sell, or attract more buyers.

At any rate, I researched as many marine carpet companies as I could find, comparing products and pricing and in the end it was clear that I would be going with Corinthian Marine. What I found out is that Corinthian, not only sells snap in carpet to the public, but it makes the bulk carpet, and sells it to many of the other companies I was calling. In the end, their first rate customer service, competitive pricing, and finished product won me over. I'm going to be using their Berber Carpet that you find in many of the high end boats these days..should look nice.

Basically, if you are starting from scratch(don't have templates)like I am, the best route to take is to order a Template Kit. It comes with instructions as to how to make your own templates, a nice heavy duty piece of plastic to make your template out of and all the samples of carpet that you want. It was $15 bucks up front, but that goes toward the price of your finished carpet when you order.

Here are a few pictures of where I'm at. I finished fitting and cutting the template for the cockpit tonight, tomorrow I'll double check it and do any trimming that is needed, along with making the bow walkway piece and a swim deck piece and get them off in the mail. From there they will use my template to cut out the and bind the edges with 1 of the 4 binding options, along with installing the female portion of the snaps where I indicate I want them. I'll get some more detailed pictures of the final product when I get it back.

Here is what I started with..Basically a 12x12 piece.

Fitting it in the boat.

Boss,

The ship is flippin awesome!

You will dig the carpet!

Do you plan on having one giant piece of carpet only?

Dividing into 4 or 5 pieces will make is easier to deal with, and less wrinkles due to the shorter distance between snaps.

Peace bro!!!!!

Thanks bro..the finish line is in sight! Yea..I spoke with the rep from Corinthian..the carpet I'm going with is pretty heavy duty and he says it lays down really sweet, no wrinkles. Heck, he said that its heavy enough to stay in place with no snaps up to 50mph!. Good stuff. I fininished up cutitng and trimming all the pieces today..I'll ship it off tomorrow and should have it back shortly. Looking forward to getting her in the water!.

Haha..I appreciate that, I've said it before that, yes I put the grunt work into the boat and did all the work, but without the help from the guys around here I would have been lost. For a while there, I was hesitant to step into the boat:p, and I'm still paranoid of getting water in there..I really need to get over that one..:redface:

As I see it with yer old lady, thats an OK! to start looking for a family bowrider to go with that fishing rig!! Congrats!!!:D:D:p

MTribe08,
I really like the idea of a template, looks like you did a great job cutting it out. Looks like you have done it before.
Nice job,

Re: 1995 Monterey 210 Deck/Stringer Restore

Here are some pictures of my carpet in production at www.corinthianmarine.com From here it will get the binding stitched on and be ready to go. The process with these guys was really smooth and easy. I thought it was going to be tough getting it all fit and I wasn't sure I could make a good template..It was really easy, and I went ahead and made some pieces for the swim deck as well..should be nice and cool in the summer.
Can wait..should be back soon!

If you don't mind me asking, what did the carpet set you back?
