Havn't started that yet, have to rent a hoist to get the engine out, take the rest of the bilge out and then do a lot of grinding and prep work. i'll for sure check out your link! thanks a lot for the great info!

Was your deck soft/rotten in the stern area too?

yeah, was soft from the aft of the fuel tank area back. previous owner did some rigging with 2x4s to keep the deck up.

LOL!! I meant...Have you done fiberglass work before on any other projects etc...?

Well...we all hve to start somewhere. Don't be afraid to ask ANYTHING!!! Most of us have been there...Done That!!! We're here to help. One really important thing when glassing plywood is the edges must be free of voids and you must precoat ALL wood surfaces with resin FIRST, then after it tacks up apply the first layer of CSM mat. All succeeding layers should be applied as soon as possible to give better adherance between the lams.

Transom was cut wrong...leaving hardly any wood for the stud to grab

I remember reading that thread, the guy had just "restored" his boat when this happened and was on a camping trip. He blamed it on bilge pump failure... I blame it on inadequate floatation, something quite a few restorers seem to overlook or ignore.

Actually that is about what a boat looks like with floatation. All it is designed to do is keep it right at the surface.

Looks like you are moving right along there. That transom look familiar.

Man good progress so far! it looks like the guy who cut that key hole in the transom was drunk :facepalm:
