Hey guys, got another question, I apparently have the seloc repair manual and not the genuine Mercuiser book, my question is on tightening the valves, I torqued the rocker arms all to 22 ft lbs but after reading the book it says I should do them in a particular order. I tried finding a merc book at the local shop, but all they have is the one they sold me. I found one in a old thread on here but it is for 1998 up, and if i read it write, just tighten to 22 ft lbs and the clearances are preset? I have no problem redoing the valves per the seloc manual, but would like to know where I can buy the Merc manual?

Again Thanks for All your help

You just torque them down, NOT adjustable.
You should be using that Seloc as kindling not repair information. Amazes me that people with that manual can actually get their engine running.

Thanks Don, Really appreciate that. Its been 20 years since i adjusted rocker arms. So here is what happened, I replaced head gasket, long story, there is a thread back in December about that, Anyway, after I tightened them down, I noticed that the starboard side i can just wiggle the rockers a little. I did not take this side apart, the port side which is the side i took apart and reassembled, after torquing the rockers to 22 ft lbs there is no movement. Anything else I should be doing? I will read the Merc manual #18 tonight when I get home. My next project after getting engine back together is to replace the impeller. Any words of advice?

Yes, read the Adults Only sticky on this forum. Then you will know how to do it.

Still don't know what those letters mean.

I apparently have the seloc repair manual ....

Which is complete rubbish...

As for the model number you posted... Don's right, it's pish. Post your engine serial number.
