The pamphlet that came with those very fine WISECO pistons says------- let it idle on the boat / in the water for 4 hrs or so.-----Very hard to follow that guide line.-----But if you bring some cold ones along and a book it can be done.

Hi All,

I've discovered that both plugs have water on them as well as cylinders I pulled the head after looking through the plug holes bottom cylinder has more water then the top also I noticed a bit of water/oil coming off the head bolts when removing them. Please don't ask me to check fuel because I have checked this multiple times and put new fuel before removing head. my question is this.. Does this sound like the head gasket was not seated correctly or could the water be coming from somewhere else like the gasket between powerhead and lower end if that is the case how does that happen? if so can you please be specific and post a diagram or something lol. I just want this to be over lol. please let me respond asap as I am going on vacation in 1.5 weeks and the boat is to be coming with us....

Side note: I have cleaned up residual water and coated everything in oil to prevent corrosion.

Thanks,

SO im thinking the head gasket did not seal properly because The manual called for gasket sealer however I used a composite head gasket meaning I should not have used sealant correct?

Spybot...they need to go thru several heat cycles(operating temp to full cool down) to "temper" them up .Pistons/rings do not break-in well at just a idle as need to have a load. Idle in gear in water will be OK
