Are there any forum's/books/web sites, related to getting more power from your 2.5 L Mercury / Mariner. I have a 1996 175 EFI Oil Injected and want more power but cant afford a new powerhead

Yep.

Milling the heads to get you up to 145 ish cranking PSI will get your best bang for for the buck.

Milling the heads might get you 10hp but with a factory ECU there is no way to richen motor if its lean on top end. A adjustable ECU from Brucato will set you back a grand and if you have a heavy boat its not worth fooling with in my book...

thanks Wired and Fazt for the info, I also tried many ways to find articles on web but nobody seems to have or want to share proformance tips

It can get expensive to increase power of a motor.

Often it is far more cost effective to simply buy another motor.

Another factor to consider, longevity of a 'pumped' motor very often will not compare to a factory motor of the higher HP.
