Re: 2 Starcrafts in 2 months and 1st post.

Well did some more research and bottom feeeding shopping in the last couple of weeks. I was going to repair the tilt and trim on the 1986 85hp Force with replacement OEM parts but the cost was a little high for a boat I paid $450 for. I refuse to pay for any parts that alone cost more than the boat under the price is ok. I was at Cabela's picking up some stuff that was on sale and clearance and as I always do meander over to the bargain cave. They have had a CMC PT-130 in there for about a year sitting on a lower shelf out of the way ( I swear I didn't hide it there). The thing was marked down to $469 from $569 with the yellow 20% of marking. My SWMBO and I went there on Saturday and picked it up. I had the guy at the counter open it up to see if it had all it's parts. The box had never been opened and was totally brand new as we were taping the box up I noticed another price tag on it for $412 I asked him if the 20% was off of that or the higher price he said it was the higher of the two. Ok i take it to the counter and tell the girl at the counter that the 20% is off the lower one as the higher price din't ring up anyway. Got it for 341.99 out the door. I figure it's a good investment to the boat if anything happens with force and I wan't to swap out to a different motor I won't have to worry about TNT on an older motor at all. I have the motor all set to pull off when it warms up into more than 40's and a gale force wind to replace the transom.

Oh and a few minutes after I get home our uddy calls us and gives us his old Alumacraft T16XL with a side console, trailer and motor. The boats a 1986 the motor is a 1971 40hp evinrude Ski Twin with electric start the motor won't budge at all it is frozen it hasn't been run since 2003. I figure I'll work on that when I am done with the Starcraft. I'm going to make that the utility loaner boat for the step son when he starts college at Paul Smith's in the Adirondacks and also the previous owner. He is a super nice guy and just doesn't have the time and wants to see it fixed up a little.

Hello Amigo! Welcome, and if I may say, calm down my friend. You seem to have been blessed with a lot of stuff lately.
I could,( and probably should) apologize for my personal feelings.....sink the Force. I know, everyone to his/her opinions, but I have never had any luck with the Force engines. You have a lot on you're plate my friend, good luck and God Bless. Let me know if I can help or at least bust some bubbles. I am only thinking of you, got your back kinda thing....only my opinion though.

To your point on the Force motor. The sad thing is it runs great and has no issues I'm not a big fan either but it was taken care of by the PO and I'm going to run it for another season and sell it and try and locate another triple cylinder motor. it won't matter what year it is or if it has TNT as I have the CMC for the Transom.

AAHAHHHAHAAAHHHH.

The feeling of completing the Transom and Splashwell are overwhelming. I thank all of the Starcrafters who came before me and helped in the process.it took longer than expected but what job doesn't with lots of rain and I have to do all the work under a maple tree and easyup. So here goes some pics before the torches come out.

It's all the miner stuff now. Like hanging the motor and setting up the Dual batteries with a switch. I wonder if any one else has a diamond plated splashwell? I had to get the splashwell replaced because of all of the cracks and retrofitting to it over the years. I took it to a local metal fab and it took them 3 weeks and 4 peices to get the diamond plate bent correctly. I was still working on the transom and other things so it was not an issue.
