I just bought a ski / fishing boat with an 115 hp Merc Tower of Power outboard. Does it matter what kind of 2 stroke oil it should run? What do u suggest? Thank you
Whatever is on sale....those old beasts drink it....use good fuel and additive...de carb when needed... great outboards!!!
Push it and clear it out....they like to be run
I ended up using amsoil 2 stroke premix oil on my older outboard smoked less and kept the plugs cleaner. You can use it a thin as 100:1, i never when that thin but had no issue going to like 60-70:1
To add to what Achris said. Your motor has a 2 cycle oil specification of TCW-III. Therefore use a 2 cycle that is certified as TCW-III. Amsoil is often not certified, and I therefore cannot recommend it.
