I just bought a ski / fishing boat with an 115 hp Merc Tower of Power outboard. Does it matter what kind of 2 stroke oil it should run? What do u suggest? Thank you

I ended up using amsoil 2 stroke premix oil on my older outboard smoked less and kept the plugs cleaner. You can use it a thin as 100:1, i never when that thin but had no issue going to like 60-70:1

Spec is 50:1. If you NEVER run at full noise, then you can get away with less oil. But the second you run at WOT, it will NEED 50:1...

To add to what Achris said. Your motor has a 2 cycle oil specification of TCW-III. Therefore use a 2 cycle that is certified as TCW-III. Amsoil is often not certified, and I therefore cannot recommend it.

Ant TCW3 rated oil along with a dose of Quickleen, Ringfree, or CarbonGard additive.

Mercury sells their own brand (Quicksilver) of 2 stroke oil at Walmart for a fair price.....maybe use that.....
