1- can the "time/date" option perameter be changed to 5 days, 10 days, 90 days, ??<br /><br />2- since direct links are not allowed, why not eliminate the URL button on the full reply form?

Howdy, roscoe.<br /><br />1. I suppose it could. What advantage would that offer?<br /><br />2. Direct links to non-commercial sites or pages are welcome. It is only links to sites that sell or advertise that are not welcome.<br /><br />You can make your suggestions directly to decision makers here: http://www.iboats.com/contactus_boards.html <br /><br />There is a changeover to new software in the works. It may be announced soon.<br /><br />Thanks for your ideas. :)

The infamous Steve has your IP, Techno.<br /><br />Please don't post unless you have something to say. You waste a lot of bandwidth with meaningless comments.

Being technostupeedo I don't know whether I should be frightened or regard the comment as meaningless. Who is the famous Steve. What does he have to do with my IP? I thought we were in the era of mega space. Sorry for imposing on your precious time.

Current searchs are limited to a maximum of 30 days, or the beginning of time. If a post was made approx 60 days ago, it is difficult to find. You either have to scroll thru 23 pages of posts, or go through 712 posts that the search feature finds for you.<br /><br />Just thought it would make it easier to find some of the tech posts if we could seach the archives in a bigger chunk, but not the biggest chunk.

The INfamous Steve once lost thousands of posts, techno. They have never been found. He has also been known to cause troublesome members to disappear. . .permanently.<br /><br />Don't be frightened. Just wait until you have some meaningful thought to post. It would also be nice if you forewent your habit of needling nearly everyone on the forum. We are friends here. We don't constantly demean one another.

IMHO, Techno has been pleasantly entertaining recently (sorry Ray). Maybe even a little boring compared to the original :D Gotta give credit where credit is due ;)

I second and third this comment. There's a small number of posters that post to almost every thread in DC and have yet to say anything worth reading. Just my opinion. Chief ;)

Chief, unfortunately there is also a small amount of posters who think that the only thing worth saying is what they deem worthy.<br /><br />How come no one ever addresses the arrogance of the forum royalty?

It seems like a good idea,It would make the search function a lot more convenient.<br />Another improvement might be dropping dockside chat altogether since it is no longer a chat but more of a dysfunctional screaming party where a few juveniles are claiming a lot lot of bandwidth which they subsequently fill with intellectual vacuum.

Alot of truth in that. I've been seeing alot of criticism latley toward some of the newer posters. Not everyone is a certified mechanic. I would venture to say that most of the members here are basically backyard mechanics trying to fix their rigs without paying an arm or a leg(Myself included). Of course, the input from those that do (Or did) make a living from working on these beasts is invaluable. But most of the response to questions here is a combination of knowledge that was picked up both from the forums and from working on ones own motor. Not always precise advice, but willing help nonetheless. Corrections can be made without belittling comments. Just remember, we all started somewhere....

Dockside Chat<br />Here to talk not only about boating but just want to enjoy the huge community of members at iboats? This is the place for you! This area is highly moderated so please keep it clean, be respectful of others and just be nice.<br /><br /><br />I thought dockside chat was a place where we could chat about anything.....meaningless or not. <br />That is what happens on the REAL docks.....guys talking about nothin important, just chatting. <br />What else do guys talk about, except nothing important.<br /><br />Can I please have a definition of "meaningless comments" according to iboats, just so I don't waste your bandwidth.<br />Cause I was just wondering if I could reply to a posted joke with just a happy face.
