I seem to be having an issue with no spark on cylinders 4 - 5 - 6 with my engine. Hopefully I am counting the cylinders correctly. I started from the starboard top as 1 then crossed over to port top as 2 and so on. I did some resistance tests with my volt meter and I own the book for this engine but just dont want to spend the hard earned $350 on the wrong part. I guess at this point I am second guessing myself and am looking for a little assistance from the community. Any obvious situations that stand out in your professional opinions?
1989 200 Hp Johnson [h=1]J200STLCEB[/h] The previous owner cranked it over thinking that it was a fuel issue for so long that he destroyed the starter. It wouldn't spin fast enough to generate any kind of spark at all until I replaced it. Once I did, the motor now cranks well, but I have found this new issue which is the spark loss as indicated. I've done the basics like compression checks so we are ok there. Thanks for any replies, and I will respond back!..
