Well guys the job has been completed here the last pics of this thread.
here is the new fitting with a zip tie and a silicone tape i used just to protect it, recommend it...
this silicone tape really is good, it will shrink all thee way down and withstand saltwater, oil, gas amd more...
After fighting for over an hr and playing fishsing the clip its finally gone into place... THANKS for the fishing string idea, this will save your life... and a lots of e-clips.
inner snap in clip was a breeze
fitting outside in place and ready to go, installation was a breeze to, just push in with a finger....
hose connected to the fitting. with zip ties, no more metal clamp, also protected with the silicone tape..
hope this pics helps fellow boater around. Thanks to all replied in my thread. Again the fishing line trick was the best....
PD: Only missing was a 7/16 socket that flew away to a "never find me again" spot when doing the water pick up bolts, still somewhere around the engine...
