You didn't give us much information. It may be as simple as a blown fuse or as bad as a blown EMM (probably not EMM if you have a CE light). Do all the LEDs light up on the panel when you turn the key on or just the CE light?? Any horn sounding? What happens when you crank, anything (lights, clicking, fuel pump whine)?
If you have a check engine light, you'll need to read the stored code(s) using the Evinrude software or use the manual procedure to flash the code on the display. Without the software though you're really poking around in the dark.
Couple of things to check:
1) Battery voltage - be sure you have strong batteries hooked up.
2) Main fuse
3) Fuses in fuse box
4) Fuseable link in harness

Or perhaps just as simple as the switch in the remote? Try shifting half into reverese-forward and then neutral and try again.

all the light come on. I checked and have 13 volts at solenoid for the starter and also have 13 volts at relay. when i turn the key i here the relay click and with the key turn on Ihave 13 volts coming out of the relay. the relay has four wires one red is hot the other red is hot when key is turned on and there is one black wire and one purple . the purple seems to go to the fuel pump which does not get power out of the relay when I turn the key? I have also swamp out fuel pump relay and ignition relay.

Re: 2001 evinrude 200 hp ficht

A quick test would be to disconnect the red lead from the starter to solenoid then use jumper cables to connect the starter lead + directly to your battery +. You should also connect the case to battery - with the other jumper cable lead just to be sure there's no grounding issues. The starter should spin right up. A better way would be to remove the starter (4 bolts) so you don't generate any voltage when (if) the flywheel spins, then connect it directly to a battery.

I have checked the starter by it's self the starter is good. i am not getting power to starter. I have ordered cables, software
and manuals. hopefully this will help me figure out what is wrong.can't get boat looked at for two weeks. If and when I get if it fixed I will post what is wrong. so I will keep on trying untill the mechanic can take a look at it.

If the starter itself is working, the start circuit is quite simple.
Follow the Yellow/red lead.
Got 12 volt INTO solenoid?
If yes, but not 12 volt out from solenoid - change solenoid.
If NO - go to remote and check if 12 Volts out from switch inside control.
If YES - contact error from remote to engine
If NO - check neutral switch in remote and 12Volts out from starter switch.

On the starboard side is a panel of fuses, just to the rear is two gang strips of wires. Look for the wire that is red with a purple stripe, with the key in run position or the off position that wire has to have battery volts. If not, that panel that all the fuses plug into has failed. You can jump around the panel by putting 12 volts to the red / purple wire.

the panel is PdP. power distribution panel. And they sell for a mere $397.47 , and they are on back order.

IF the CHECK ENGINE light is flashing, the motor will not start and you have to take it to a dealer to have the code 57 shutdown cleared and the engine checked for any internal fuel leaks.

IF the light is steady, then there is some type of electrical problem that does not allow the motor to start as the EMM activates the starter solenoid by completing the ground circuit. A dealer would have to use a laptop to find which code is stored and then fix it.

the check engine light is flashing. when I turn the key all four lights come on and then I get a beep which is normal but then instead of motor starting all I get is the check engine light flashing.

Great information. looking at the evinrude emm service code chart it says to clear the code 57 you have to turn emm ( off) then ( on) again. Can anyone tell me how to do that? I just want to say Thanks to everyone for there help.

Turn OFF engine, remove B+, wait about 20 minutes to be sure. Then power up again.

all I get is the check engine light flashing.

Reread the first paragraph of my previous post to you . It is post #10 in this thread.

You either revved it up in neutral and yanked the throttle back as the rpms went sky-high or the motor started to rev up on its own due to unmetered fuel getting into the crankcase such as from a leaking fuel lift pump. You need to take it to a dealer to have him clear the code 57 and to check for any fuel leakage that could cause a runaway.

Also the dealer should check for the latest software on your motor as an upgrade years ago made the code 57 shutdown feature not as sensitive.

Thanks for not mentioning that the check engine light was FLASHING and that it happened right after you yanked the throttle back when you overreved the motor in neutral.
