I have a 2001 Mercury 25hp that has low compression in the bottom cylinder. What are my best options? Where could I find someone to rebuild it or a used POWERHEAD?

Maine, I found a used powerhead but not sure if it will work, it’s not a mercosil block but the guy said it will fit a 25 Mercury. Has very similar part number.

Rebuild it yourself. The kits and the manual are available. The hard part might be finding a shop that can do a blind Mercosil Bore.

I just may have to but the kit is 400$ and so is the powerhead I found it looks like it will match up. Just the last numbers has me a bit worried.

That used one is a chrome bore and they scuff as bad a s the Merosil block. Make sure seller guarantees compression and sends you pics of cylinder walls

Very easy to remove bypass covers to inspect condition of motor.
