2002 searay 182 w/4.3 merc (coming out of the hole)

This does not happen every time, but lately when the boat is at idle and I give it gas it sputters for a few seconds prior to going. Then runs fine at cruising speed. Any ideas? I am puzzled. Thanks

This boat has a carburetor on it and has no problems starting.

clog or water in the fuel system somewhere? Check your plugs as well

This boat has a carburetor on it and has no problems starting.

Check and see if your accelerator pump is working. You should have a visible stream of fuel squirting when you throttle up quickly (pump the throttle). No squirt results in a lean condition (stumble) when the throttle is opened quickly.

What maintainance has been done to it? Have you had your 100 hour service?

I just bought the boat this year and have put about 60 hours on it so i can not say what maintenance has been done. I really need to get the manual for this engine. Does anyone have an electronic copy. Looks like the link has been removed? Thanks
