Re: 2007 Impala poor fuel mileage
Kind of off topic, but I put a cold air intake on my Tundra with the K&N filter. The gas mileage actually dropped, which I didn't buy it for fuel economy reasons so I really didn't care.
The other day I was doing a 20K mile service on my wife's 06 Toyota Solara (V6) The air filter was getting to the point of needing replaced, so I went down to the local Auto-Zoo and they had a sale on K&N's, so I figured I'd try one. I didn't say anything to my wife, she knew nothing about the K&N. 2 weeks later she tells me she's suddenly noticed that her car will go 402 miles on a tank of gas and it use to only go to 375 before being empty. (she waits until its almost dry before she buys gas). I then told her about the filter. And its consistantly getting 25 or more miles per tank.
So the K&N's do work on certain cars, but not all of them.
I did the K&N on are equniox and it did NOTHING![]()
