well guys, it is with great sadness that i am telling you i probably will not be able to make it to tinstock... i've been plagued by car troubles with both of our cars in the last few months, and not my truck is back in the shop for a new heater core that ate up the money i had saved for the trip...

at this point im not 100% sure, but it looks like i wont have the gas money or money for the hotel.

if there is anyone nearby that has an extra seat in their car and wants company for the ride, let me know... and maybe i'll camp for the weekend instead of staying in the motel...

Sorry to hear that Andy, but I certainly understand. Remember though, as you said you can always camp, and you don't HAVE to bring your boat. Just your presence will be fine. I just looked and rental cars are fairly cheap (though rental trucks are not).

well if nothing more we can always get the boats together on a lake in ny..but i'll see if i can get a jeep liberty to tow down with..gotta check the tow capacity

I'd drive my 97 Chev Tahoe if the front axel wasn't broke, and if me and the wife wasn't broke.. let alone, dont know if the boat would be ready (i'd try really hard) Finally got a job working at HP in Andover MA fixing HP Laptops (lease returns), so finally have some $$$ but need a newer truck, the wifes van repaired/replaced, move into a 3 bdroom instead of 2 bdrm... blah blah blah.. sob sob..

I'm still, hoping though.

I'd Love a hat.. :-(​

Well i was talking to my brother in law last night about what was going on, and he asked me if i had cancelled the room yet and i said no, and he asked me not to because maybe he could take care of it... so its up in the air right now...

well im playing it by ear right now... i have a wedding to do a few weeks before, so that money is earmarked for the trip. should be enough to pay for gas. its the lodging that im not sure of at this point...

hey guys i was looking for a cheap boat for me and my brother to do some bass fishing in. i came across this boat on sale for $100 as is. i was wondering if anyone knows what kind of starcraft this is. the seller says its 15 feet long but thats all he know about it. also does anyone know if this boat would be stable enough if i carpeted the front part and turned it into a casting deck. any info would be great thanks in advance.

i may have some good news... i was talking with my brother in law (who is supposed to come on the trip) about how i didnt think i was going to be able to afford the hotel, and he told me to wait to cancel. then he asked me how much it was, i told him 3 something, and he said he would pay for it! i feel bad because origionally i invited him just to help me drive, and i would pay for everything he would just have to cover his meals. now, were taking his truck and hes paying for the room. but i know he really wants to go now because his buddy whos been in iraq for the last year is now stationed somewhere down there near D.C. so he can go see him while we are there.

I sort of hate to modify boats too much. I would not walk on my foredeck as it is, covered with carpet or not. If it is removed and replaced with something else the strength at the bow needs to be as good as it is now. I realize the price is right for a boat to modify but there must be a boat made just for fishing in the same range. My two cents.
