This is a link to a youtube video I made this morning of my 1972 20HP Mercury pushing my 14 Deep V. It is rated for a 25, but the 1995 25HP Mercury I had for it seemed to weigh to much, but it really got this boat moving, no problems planing off in waves. I do have a lot of weight in the back and the front is empty. See what you think, maybe I'm expecting to much from this motor.

I would say that motor is running nicely, you may want to move some weight forward if you can, fuel tank perhaps. One notch down on the tilt pin will bring your nose down, but based on your wake I think the engine is set up right. The 72 20 hp merc was power head rated where as your 95 merc is prop rated, thats where the big difference is.

Hi,

I'd have to agree with Dave's ideas.
One thing I noticed is the floor.
AlumaCraft did not put a floor in that boat.
Someone else did. So depending on what thickness and type of plywood they used it can add a lot of weight. With the gas tank and battery for the troller in the back you are to stern heavy for the 20 HP.

Thanks guys, I will move the gas tank up front and also try a hydrofoil, maybe it will help. I wish my 20HP moved like this one on youtube. That thing looks like it has an extra gear. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOEs-VNPSAg

Dave said it. :)
That guy has a little fiberglass tri-hull boat.
They slide up on to the the top of the water.
Way different than your boat.
Do you have the 2 blade 11 in pitch prop or the 3 blade 9 in on your motor?
If you have 3/4 in plywood in you floor take it out and put in 1/2 in 5 ply if you have to have a flat floor.
