Welcome to iBoats. Nice trailer removal technique :thumb:

Once you get the boat stabilized and redundantly supported, you will probably be taking the engine out in order to assess and adddress the water issues. while the engine is out, you should be able to get good access to the stringer/bulkheads and transom to check for structural issues like water retention, rot, etc.

Seems like a 'fun' project. It sounds like you already have a name for the boat . . .

Looking forward to your updates.

Looks like a great candidate for a rebuild! If it was in good shape before the sinking it might not be too bad. That's a nice looking boat.

I'm in too. Nice boat and great project.

Name of the boat could be "Blocking Madness"

That's a real sharp looking hull. Definitely worth fixing up. Since you've been watching Jay's videos, you already know what to do and how to do it. Good luck with your projects and welcome to iboats drydock.

Sure seems you got the upper hand so far on the mechanical ability the pumps a breeze after pullin the drive for the long overdue maintenance. Now just post up yr,make and serial numbers off your motor & drive and one of the guys will link you downloads for the service manuals (very helpful)when doing for the 1st time.

It may have been repowered or maybe just a replacement carb cover. There is a second location for the engine serial number riveted to the flywheel housing - starboard side, near the starter. So, you should be able to verify.

Looks like a closed cooling system ??? . . . nice.

It seems like you have got a good handle on things, and the fact that the engine runs is a bonus. Were you able to assess any internal damage, like rust in the cylinders, etc.? Compression test & cylinder leak test maybe?

In terms of replacing parts, make sure to use marine compliant parts for fuel, ignition and electrical systems (SEA J1171, etc) It is a safety thing.

Where was that tag located? I have not seen a spot on my boat where all three serial numbers are located. Gee that would be nice. I can't make all mine out and I need engine/drive service parts soon!

You can pick up a hinge pin tool pretty cheap but a good 1/2 allen will do the job just start soaking the hinge pins with penetrating oil now some need heat to help the process along! Post up your serial numbers for service manual downloads in the I/O forum it will help with some of the odd component ?'s. Also to get the large retainer nut off the upper make a spanner wrench out of bar stock with a 1/2 drive socket welded to the end so you can re-torque it worked great for me ! Good luck keep updating
