Re: 25' 1976 Sleek Craft Ambassador Project

I know where I want you to put them. In the boat for a pic. What did you think I was going to say? How is the rebel engine coming?

Maybe this weekend. I have a small fuel leak in one fuel tank. The tank is empty right now. I want to cut it out and get it fixed before I put the seats in. The Rebel is getting there. New block and crank are at the machinist. Hopefully 2 weeks and I'll have the assembled short block back.

Those colors look outstanding! I had seats made last summer and went with white and that was a mistake. Did you use custom colors or colors off of their charts? Would love to see how 2 piece fits together in front of motor.

It was what Veada considered custom colors. They have a much larger selection than what is available on their site. When I recieved the first samples I did not see anything I liked. I called them and explained what I was doing and emailed them a few pics of the boat. They then sent a bunch more samples out. I was able to put something I liked together out of those samples. When I say "I" I mean my wife. She choose all the colors. I just "agreed" to them. LOL. Props to Jon Yoder at Veada. He was a big help.

FYI these are the colors.
Custom Color A: Pueblo Brown
Custom Color B: Sunset Orange
Custom Color C: Starlight Almond

We really wanted colors that kept the 70s feel of the boat. Hopefully we succeeded
Yeah, if you look back I'm a Sleek Freak so I get it, and all of my boats have been Western customs and one of them had a lot of brown . . .

I gotta say, I was a little worried when my wife choose those colors. Now that I see them in person they look fantastic.

I updated the cost PDF in the first post. Total project is now up to a shade over $4K

For such a big *** boat those seats are tight. They fit though.

Thanks fellas. Kinda hard to tell in the pics but I wish there was just a couple inches more space between the front and the rear. I am 6'3" and it is tight for me in the back seat. It is fine for my 5'3" wife though.

Any updates on either of your projects? I got my water pump changed out, welding up some parts for my boat dock this weekend.

Sorry I missed this post Arch. Nothing new on the Ambassador. The Poncho has been whoopin my *****. It is almost back together now though. Once it's back in the Rebel I'll get back on these seats.

Thanks. I am pretty pleased with them. It seemed like they couldn't get here fast enough and now that they are here I can't seem to find time to install them. The Rebel's engine project has had me sidetracked. Probably going to be another 3 weeks or so before I get back on the Ambassador.

I gotta turn notifications on for this thread. I keep missing when people reply. LOL. Nothing new yet Bobby. Still dealing with issues on the Rebel. I thought I had the Rebel all nice and reliable and now the starter went out. Gotta pick the motor up to get the starter off. I may just let her sit for a bit and see if she can get her attitude back in line. LOL.

Hey Matt, if you don't mind me asking...you may have already said, what did the seats set you back? Looks like they fit like a glove!

Little under $1500 shipped to my door. That is including the upgraded sliding, swivel, hydraulic pedestals for the front and stainless cup holders. They were dead on with the lead and ship times. If I remember correctly it was about 3 weeks to my door.

They fit pretty well. IMO they are a little tight between the front and back seats. I have a plan to fix that though. I think they will fit even better in an I/O boat. That big Olds and jet drive take a lot of real estate in the aft part of the boat.

Hmmm. For some reason I am still not getting notification of replies to this thread.

Re: 25' 1976 Sleek Craft Ambassador Project

I made a little progres this week. My wife and I mocked up the seats again and I actually got the nerve up to cut the holes in the back seats. By cutting a box to fit around the lower pulley and alternator I gained about 6" of room between the front and rear seats. It made a big difference. If this heat will ever break I'll get out there and get them mounted.

Veada added my project to their facebook page. Kinda cool.

Glad to hear you are getting some work done on her....this heat sucks, I'm ready for a little rain and a little bit cooler temps for sure!
