2hp Evinrude ? electrical problem

I have a 1983 2hp Evinrude outboard (E2RCTD). It was running beautifully 2 weeks ago. I took it out this afternoon to turn it over and check it was running okay for this weekend. It failed to start. On checking the spark plug, it was only sparking occasionally. I checked the points and everything seemed to be okay. On putting the motor back together again, it started and ran with no problems. It now seems to have developed the same problem again. I have replaced the spark plug with no effect. Where should I start? Is it worth replacing the condensor? New HT lead? Many Thanks in advance.

While your in there check the coil for visual cracks, if you see any replace the coil also.

Many Thanks for the quick replies. Thankfully now working again after replacing the HT lead. No visual cracks to the coil, and I have given the points are really good clean. Seems to be running better than ever!!
