If your guess is right, then your valve adjustment is too tight. As I said before, I have never seen an oil problem cause this.

1 valve in each cylinder sticking open, or carbon or something keeping them open. Or your readings were wrong. 0 compression = non-running engine. By your theory, the lifters would have to overpump. Don't think that's possible.
