Re: 30 Hp Johnson ID

there should be a small silver plug on the powerhead of the motor. It should have a series of numbers on it. Do they match the transom plate. If so okay, if not what are they? I was umable to id this motor using the standard chart i have. Sorry if you come up with any other numbers let me know.

For your comfort, nothing is missing.
It never was anything in front of that carb.
Due to the black power head paint, I would so far guess it to be a later 80's engine.
However hopefully the 'dime' on the block will tell.

Re: 30 Hp Johnson ID

It should be some letters??
In worst case, 'RPH' that stands for replacement power head.
Does the engine have a UFI (Under Flywheel) power pack, or a separate one at port side at the back?
(If the primary leads to coils disappears under the flywheel, an UFI.)
