How fast does your 4.3 merc go. What kind of boat and what size prop
I have a Stingray 4.3 that moves to 42 mph with a 17p prop at 4800. My Glastron 4.3 goes 50+ (haven't had a chance to top out yet) swinging a 23p prop.
Each boat is going to be different even though they may have the same drive and motor combination. I looked at many boats newer or older, before I bought my glastron... all were 4.3 mercs and the advertised top mph's for each boat were all over the place.
Hope this helps you ...

I have a 96 monterey with a 4.3 alpha one gen2 with a 19 pitch prop goes mid to high 40s I just wanted to see what other boats are doing and with what size prop. Thanks hope more people reply
You would do MUCH better to tell us what YOU have and what you hope to gain...... All this other stuff is just chit chat.... the fact that your motor is a 4.3 really doesn't mean it has anything in common with other boats just because they have 4.3's
Go look on the prop page at the "read this first" sticky and reply back with that info.... then we can get a mod to move this to the prop section and get you lined out.
Why don't you calm down a little... I wasn't bothered AT ALL and I didn't attack or insult you in any way.... I'm ONLY trying to help you get the best info possible.I already told people what I have, get your facts rite before you make a comment, I am not trying to gain anything just asking other 4.3 owners how there boat runs. I dont know why this would bother you.
what did you do to the new engine
I have a 2011 Tahoe Q7i with the 4.3 MPI (220hp) Alpha 1, it has a 19P Mercury Enertia 3 blade stainless. The boat really has not been broken in fully yet however I did do a WOT run briefly and it registered 58 mph on the speedo trimmed up (can't remember the RPM I think it was at about 5000) This was with myself and two others in the boat.
I agree with Smoke however...all of us telling you what our boats do doesn't really mean much for yours. You should be telling us what YOURS does and what you have...and also go by the guidlines of WOT and what rpm you are at with your prop size.
