UPDATE:
Fixed the tach and fixed the prop, so we took her out for a GPS-verified WOT speed run. Here are the numbers;
WOT = 48.5 mph @ 4550 RPM (The GPS was bouncing back and forth between 48 and 49 mph, hence 48.5)
So, since I currently have a 23P prop on there, I need to drop the pitch by 2" in order to gain about 400 rpm and get it up to the optimum 4800. 4550 + 400 rpm = 4950. That will put me right at the rev limiter, so I'm going to switch from a 3-blade prop to a 4-blade prop which should drop it down 100-ish rpm which should fit my boat's performance curve perfectly AND make it more maneuverable at low-speeds and better fuel mileage at cruising speeds.
Win win
