Hello all, I have a 2014 Larson LX195S with a 4.3 TKS. 260 hours. I’m on my 4th oil pressure switch since new. They keep failing, causing the fuel pump to stop running. It’s become so predictable that I have made a temp wire harness that plugs directly into the pump connector to feed it 12v from my anchor light circuit so I can run the engine when the switch fails. I’m using OEM switches purchased from Merc dealer. The boat is very well maintained, frequent oil changes, proper viscosity, new filter every time. Problem occurs at random times, either at cruising speed or at idle. Usually restarts, but then cuts out and stalls again shortly thereafter. With the jumper harness plugged in, it runs perfectly, and a new switch cures the problem for a season, but eventually it needs replacement again. Think I’ll make replacing the switch part of the annual maintenance! Anybody else experienced this? I did try searching - found a lot of posts about switch problems but couldn’t find anything about repeat failures. If it’s been covered, my apologies!
